What kind of golf ball was that?
SPOKANE, Wash. -- Using new golf balls he didn't really want, Mark Roff made two holes-in-one in the same round.
Playing in a tournament at Indian Canyon Golf Course on Sunday, the 11-handicapper from Spokane aced holes No. 4 and No. 11.
"Totally amazing," said Roff, a 35-year-old broker. "I've never had a hole-in-one before. After the second one, it was pretty tough to finish the day."
Roff already was 4-under-par when he pulled out his 8-iron at the par-3 fourth hole. He aced the 150-yard hole on the fly.
On the 105-yard 11th hole, Roff used a 9-iron and put it in on one bounce.
"Then my arms turned into pipes," said Roff, who ended 3-over-par.
Roff said he's keeping the Titleist 100s he purchased for the tournament.
"The funny thing is, I asked at the pro shop for a different ball, and they told me this was all they had," he said. "Now, it's probably what I'll be playing for the rest of my life."
