Question 111

Scott,

What is the difference other than instructors between your swing method and the "Natural Golf" swing taught here in the Chicagoland area?

SH: There are a number of differences. The stance, grip, height of the backswing, trunk rotation, training techniques, release, ball flight, body position, IMA distance gained over traditional golf swing, natural golf distance lost compared with traditional golf swing, scores are lower, uniform training system, anatomical certainties.

There are more, but you get the idea. Get my Master the Golf Swing and How to Master the Golf Swing videos to see the difference.

I gather that your swing requires non-traditional clubs and grips well?

SH: My club design can be built to specs for traditional or single axis swings. The lie angle is adjustable, the center of gravity is adjustable, shaft flex and spine angle are is set by the certified club builders at Scigolf, and the balance is within a tolerance of 1/8 inch. The grips on the club is not part of the principle, you only need a grip size large enough to control the club without slippage.

I almost forgot, and with Scigolf discounting the putters, and irons by a minimum of 40 percent off SRP (why they are so affordable I don't know, they should be higher) you have a club that is master built at factory outlet prices.

I currently shoot 84 to 94 but am making no progress lowering the scores. Tend to get better as the golf season progresses- but return to mid to high 90's when we start the season again. I work hard on the game, but control is elusive - especially off the tee.

Would be interested in how long to make the switch if it made sense etc.

SH: The average for a full switch with training on a consistent basis 2 times a week is 2.5 months.
