![]() Question 21 Hello Scott, I'm glad I found your page. I attended a Natural Golf school in Chicago and worked and worked on the short choppy swing they showed me. I even bought the heavy clubs they came out with. Occasionally I could hit it stone cold straight but I really lost distance. I ended up literally throwing the clubs away on a Myrtle Beach vacation. Anyway I am 49 and play to a 6. I don't want to lose my game. Is there more to your tape than the grip and why would a reasonably athletic person as myself have such a battle with this seemingly simple swing? Thanks in advance and should I just use the palm grip and hit it? Randy Dear Randy, Unfortunately there are misconceptions and perceptions that permeate the whole look alike Moe Norman instruction. You have been instructed in the idiosyncrasies of Moe Norman at 67 without having the benefit of the technique that gives him his consistency. When I was the Vice President of Golf Operations for Natural Golf, my standard teaching technique was abandoned because they felt it didn't look like Moe Norman. They also did not under stand the beauty of Moe's swing and the tactical advantage that needed to be shown. What gave Moe Norman his accuracy was not his short backswing and keeping your right foot on the ground, but the straight line motion of the right hand and the left arm rod with a square upper body. In fact, Moe Norman at 30 years of age, when he truly was the best ball striker of all time, went back to parallel and his right foot rolled in well before impact. Virtually every one who tried to look like Moe and duplicate his 67 year old swing played worse and hit the ball so short that they could not compete. It was because of the attitude that you must look like Moe to be a natural golfer that I had to leave and start my own company.
My video is designed to show what Moe did when he was truly the best ball
striker who ever lived when he was strong, young and flexible. I also show
that there are many components of the traditional golf swing that can be
incorporated and kept when making this transition to straight line motion.
With most people the switch to the Ideal Mechanical Advantage swing will
pick up club head speed. No one ever loses club head speed with the IMA
swing. The positions that Moe captures in his swing are shown as well as
the training required to learn this motion and understand the technical
advantage you can now employ. You will not be disappointed.
