Question 229

I am a 50 yr. old male who has been a low 70 shooter for 30 yrs. I purchased your tape, Master the Golf Swing because I still have a desire to get better. I have been practicing your concepts for a couple of months now and my ball striking has improved immensely. There always seems to be something, I've developed an occasional shank. I'm dropping my elbow in front of my hip and keeping my head back, but I still get that dreaded shank. I'm confused.

With a hosel shank you are leading your hands too far ahead and not releasing with the straightening of the right arm. In fact you are not straightening the right arm until after impact. Let the club work up and down the forearm toward the ball.
