![]() Question 87 Scott, You use regular grips with extra tape to build up the grips. I thought for the single axis you needed grips which where the same size from one end to the other and not tapered so that you could get a better hold on the club.
Thanks, Dear Michael, Grips size is not a principle of single axis golf. The right size is a grip large enough so your fingers don't dig into your thumb or heel pads. We build up grips to about 1.2" diameter at the butt end, and .8" to .9" in diameter near the logo. This size grip is also easier for most golfers to hold on to. We do use tapered grips because we learned from experience that non-tapered grips tend to slip when either the grip or your hands get wet.
