Question 92

Hi Scott,

I just received your tape on the full swing. You show how to measure with the club and thumbs to position the feet the proper distance apart. Is the distance apart the same for all the clubs? If not how do I calculate the distance for each club?

Thanks, Michael

Dear Michael,

On impart shots you can have your feet fairly close together, but I emphasize that they should never be closer than the width of your hips. When you are making your first move down you need room to bring the elbow down in front of the hip as I show in the video. If you do not have a brace of the right leg, then you will be forced to move the elbow and arm out and around or spin about excessively. I prefer to have my feet on all full shots at shoulder width. This will put you into a good foundation so you can easily transfer your weight from your right side to your left on the down swing through impact.
