Question 344

What causes cracks and splits in random golf balls?

From John:

Hi Scott,

I am a range owner in northern Ohio. What causes cracks and splits in random golf balls?

The ball is being beaten on top and on the side with the leading edge of the club (skulls and tops). If you were teaching my method at your range you would get better ball wear.
