![]() Question 385 How do I keep the grooves on my wedges in good shape? From Todd: I'm a 7 handicap. My question is in regards to keeping the groove in optimal condition - mainly on the wedges. I have Vokey wedges (S and 60 degree), and have had them for about 2 years. When I purchased them I worked hard to learn the spin rates and such. They were great clubs around the green to make the ball bounce and stop. Now the same shots bounce and bounce, and roll and roll. I'm not getting the proper spin off these clubs. Is there a way that I can keep the grooves in great condition (I clean them regularly)? Can the grooves be re-grooved or sharpened. Any help is appreciated as when I'm from 70 yards any more I'm not confident as I don't know what shot to play....land it in front and allow the roll or to take dead aim knowing the ball will stick - which is my preffered shot! There are many shops that will re-groove you wedges (and some will not). You can get tools and do it yourself, although I wouldn't recommend it.
