Question 421

What should I do when I finish the impact backwards exercises?

From Jari:

I have 6 days to go and I will be done with the impact backwards drills.  My question is should I hit 20 regular shot after the last impact backward drill?

Will this be beneficial?  Or will my old swing undo what I am trying to learn?

I do the golf kata for 15 minutes and then the golf chi for 15 minutes before I ever hit a shot.  Next I start impact backwards with the imprinting (motion memory) horizontal training (golf club up in front of your belly or chest level), bottom of the arc training (measure to the ground taking a divot), practice (making solid contact and finding a pattern, consistent predicable results), the gate (driving the ball through a 3 inch separation of balls or tees along the target line) with all of the impact back exercises.  The full swing still has the gate and your goal is to hit at the very least a 9 iron 5 iron and driver through the gate at least 50% of the time with a minimum of 10 balls per club (I hit every club in my bag this way) and lastly 50 drivers swinging as fast as humanly possible, I don't care about direction, only about clubhead speed.  Grip it and rip it!  Now I am ready to go to the putting green.
