![]() Question 447 Excerpt From Scott's Book. The SAGE Here is an excerpt from Scott's soon to be released book on golf. There are three levels of learning involved in the game of golf. (1) You have to understand what the game was meant to be, and what the “swing process” is all about. The golf swing really boils down to a delivery system – a technique of hitting a ball on the ground. (2) You have to have a body-brain interaction. It’s OK to understand what you’re trying to do, but can your brain inform your body on how to achieve the plan? Ideally, body-brain interaction becomes a subconscious program that allows you do it without thinking. (3) Playing the game. Once you understand that your body can deliver predictable results, you have to negotiate your way around the golf course. It’s all about getting the ball in the hole in the fewest number of strokes. Playing the game is different from learning the golf swing or understanding some aspect of the golf swing. I don’t want you to play the golf swing. I want you to play golf. From my teaching, I guarantee a 40% reduction in handicap. This may sound outrageous, but it’s not. In fact, a 40% reduction is the minimum I expect. Just one of my putting exercises should help you achieve that 40% reduction. Scott
