![]() Question 448 Scott's New Regimen From Mel: Just wanted to drop a line to Scott to see how he is doing. I am doing much better, I have started a regimen that is working well. I still take my medications but have added taurnine, and hawthorn. The thing I like about taurnine is it is a amino acid that does not become a part of the protein supply. Because of this, it polices the cell membranes, keeping potassium and magnesium inside the cells and keeping excess sodium out. For conditions like mine (heart failure) or liver disease, and ovarian cancer it is your best resort. The additional benefits or side effects unlike pharmaceuticals are reinforcement of the immune system, strenghthening the heart muscle, stabilizing heart rhythm, preventing blood clots, guarding against diabetes, and aiding digestion. Since my little incident I have had some vision impairment. The rods and cones in our retinas contain the highest concentration of polyunsaturated fats of any other cells in the body. The antioxidant protection provided by taurine, has shown significant improvement for me. I am an IMA believer who has not had the time to dedicate to mastering the technique. I try to utilize the principles and have decent success considering I no longer have the time to practice (I try to play once a week - handicap 12). Short of finding the time to get a personal lesson from Scott I am hoping that maybe his book will allow me to better grasp the intricacies of the method. The book should do just that. Writing and editing the book has given me new insight and hopefully it is conveyed within the pages. I heard that Scott suffered a heart attack and is on the road to recovery. I manage the invasive cardiology areas of the largest hospital in Honolulu and am very familiar with cardiac conditions and treatments. I would be happy to be a resource for Scott if he had any questions regarding his condition or recovery. I work with a large number of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and specialists and I can always consult with them for information I am not sure of. I would very much like to know why many vita-nutrients, because of their extremely high benefit-to-risk ratio, are not the "treatment of choice" for certain medical conditions. Taurine being one that really deserves to be considered by all doctors. Anyway, please let Scott know that I hope his recovery is going well and someday I will get to meet him during a personal lesson. If he ever makes it to Hawaii for a vacation maybe we can hook up. All the best! Mel I am about due for a trip to Hawaii. Thanks for the support.
