Question 475

Dean's scoring breakthrough.

Dean:

As far as my breakthrough, it's all about short game.   I have ingrained half wedge shots that are dialed in on the distance.   I was never able to hit a 60 yard shot before.   I have that down pat.   Plus, my chipping around the greens is to the point of ridiculous.  On Saturday, on the back nine, I had 7 up and downs out of 7.   Ranging from 5 yards to 30 yards from the pin.

On one, my ball was buried in clover,  I had to hit it like an explosion shot from a bunker.  I tapped in without needing to take the cover off the putter.   I was told (since I was below the hole) that I lipped the hole.

I DO think I need to see Scott... .  My driving is straight, but I am not thrilled with my distance.   This may have to do with my physical condition or something I'm not executing properly during my swing.   But, at this point, I'm hitting the ball with my practice swing (not lunging at it, just swinging through the ball).

The best part of breaking 81 (my former best score) was shooting 77.   Not 80, 79 or 78.  I kicked the door down.   All the accolades to Scott and you guys at Scigolf.

Its great to hear of your success!

Scott
