![]() Question 489 Will a 7 degree driver increase my distance? From Bob: I'm hitting about 280 yards with my driver off the tee with a good shot. This is with a 9.5 degree driver and my drives go somewhat high on my tee shots. If I got say a 7 degree or 8 degree driver would that increase my distance about 10 or maybe more yards? Bob, I certainly wouldn't go any lower than 8.5°, and be sure to have your swing speed tested along with your spin rate. You want to make sure that you're getting the golf ball off at the proper launching angle of around 10°, and with spin somewhere in the 2500 range. Scott
