Question 573

Which grips do you recommend?

From Jesse:

Is there a commercially available golf grip that you like in lieu of using "build-up" tape under the right hand and a mid-size grip.

I use and like the Players’ Softy midsized; it has shown great durability for me and works in all weather conditions.   I don’t suggest any others until I produce one of my own.

I build up my grips by using 2 inch tape, 1 wrap around the first 2 inches and then 2 wraps for the next 2 inches and 4 wraps for the next 4 inches and 5 wraps for the last 2 inches   (this makes griping down on the club a thing of beauty).   You would then place the grip tape on top of the wrap length wise.   It may seem like a hassle but the ball flight appreciates it.

Would a +3/32 oversize Tacki Mac Arthritic grip work? Size wize?

It will work; it is just not preferred by me. nbsp; Remember that grip size is not part of the principle you just need something large enough so you don’t slip.
