Question 583

From 16 to a 6!
When Do You Use a Reverse Overlap Grip?

From Ken:

Dear Scott,

It's been awhile since I've written.   I believe that I've been using your system for 4 years now or 3 ... not sure, but I have to say that I've gone from an average 16 handicap to a low 6!   This year has been hectic so haven't really played at all.   I've slacked off and found that I'm out of control ... because I haven't been doing my impact drills and conventional golf creped in!   Anyways, I've gone back to watching the video and reading archived questions and I'm back on track.

Sorry about the winded intro, but I wanted to thank you again for your great system/work! Anyways here is my question:

Either your video or past questions you stated that you use a 10 finger grip for normal shots, then a reverse overlap when you want control.   Is this used with ALL clubs (lob through driver) when you want control or just with the short irons?

I will use the reverse overlap with all clubs and a firmer grip.   I think short and tight, if I am feeling week, or out of synch.

Scott
