Question 584

Does It Matter Whether Irons Are Forged or Cast?

From Andrew:

What are the major differences to the GOLFER as it pertains to a Forged vs. Cast Irons?   I have a set of Cobra SSI now and am looking at MP 60's.

By the very nature of casting you use a mold, and that can create air pockets that produce hot spots and dead spots.   Forged is a better way to produce irons and it costs more for a reason.   You also have the opportunity to bend the hosel for a better fit.
