Ballista Hybrids

The Ballista Hybrids are attractive, low profile (29 mm's high) irons in the shape of a small  fairway wood.  The heads, which are made of 17-4 stainless steel, are designed to replace your 3 and 4 irons.  They are available with steel and graphite shafts, right hand only.  The heads weigh the  same as the Accuswing 3 and 4 irons and therefore the shafts are the same length.

The 3 iron hybrid has 18 degrees of loft and a 59 degree lie angle.

The 4 iron hybrid has 23 degrees of loft and a 59.5 degree lie angle.

Both are 78 mm’s long across the face which is typical of a small fairway wood.

Although the lofts are a bit strong, the length from face to rear is sufficiently large that it moves the center of mass of each Ballista hybrid back towards the rear of the head. The rearward center of mass, coupled with the low profile, propels the ball at a reasonably high launch angle with a good overall trajectory.

In general these best serve players who can hit a 6 iron or less from 150 yards. Many, if not most, players find these easier to swing, with better square contact at impact with the ball. They will significantly out perform long irons (3 or 4 irons) for all but the highest skilled golfers.

If ordered with the Accuswing irons we will match the Ballista hybrids’  MOI’s to the irons so they swing the same.

The shaft flexes available are:-
TT Lite (steel) - stiff, firm, regular, senior & ladies
Dynamic Gold (steel) – R- 300, S- 300, X- 100
Graphite - stiff, firm, regular, senior & ladies

We'll recommend a shaft flex based on your swing speed and any other needs and contact you for confirmation.
