What is the hammY? This revolutionary new putter is
designed to reduce your handicap while increasing your confidence. The hammY
putter cleverly combines an innovative split grip and special triple bend shaft
with a traditional putter head, making putting easier and more effective. The
split grip comfortably accommodates your spread hands and reduces pressure on
your lower back. The exclusive hammY triple bend shaft forces you to keep
your hands in front of the ball. This forward pressing motion gets the ball
rolling instantly, guaranteeing it to stay on its intended line. The triple
bend shaft allows for a smoother stroke. It also makes it possible to
remove your lead side out of the putt, promoting an open stance. Why
change your stance? The open stance
(approximately 45 degrees) provides the ability to view the line with both
eyes. Using both eyes gives you a more accurate track to the target
line.
Why spread your hands?
It works. History can prove it. The hand position a person uses to hit a home
run in baseball and drive a ball in golf are very similar. While this hand
position is effective for maximizing distance, it severely minimizes your
control and accuracy. Bunting, however, requires control and accuracy. Players
bunt with an open stance and spread hands. Why then, do golfers insist on using
the same grip to drive a ball 300 yards, as they do to putt one 3 yards?
hammY style updates traditional golfing by giving golfers a new and logical
option. Spreading your hands gives you increased stability and enables you to
putt with more precision. By placing your trailing hand lower on the handle
you gain the control required to to bring the putter head straight back and
straight through on each putt. This grips gives you the feel of making an
underhanded toss, as if you were rolling the ball with your hand to the
cup. The lead hand holds the top of the handle, working as a
guide, to eliminate unwanted wrist action in your putting
stroke.
