Triple Bend Shaft

Setting up with the hammY back in your stance, just inside your back foot, enables you to have a natural forward press.  This forward press forces the ball to have an immediate and more accurate roll down the target line.

HammY's Triple Bend Shaft also makes it possible to remove your lead side out of the putt, promoting an open stance.

Split Grip

By spreading your hands on the shaft, you will maximize your control over the putter.

Anything in life that requires control and accuracy, you spread your hands for optimal success.  Imagine bunting a baseball or taking a slap shot in hockey; the only way you will consistently succeed is by spreading your hands for control and accuracy.

Open Stance

First, the open stance allows you to clear your lead side out of the putting stroke.  A common problem with traditional putting is staying still over the putt.  Moving your upper body during the follow through causes putts to go off-line.  hammY Style putting makes it possible to maintain your balance and stability throughout the putt, allowing you to swing the putter straight back and straight through without your lead side getting in the way.

Second, with the open, forty-five degree stance that hammY Style putting promotes, you will now use both eyes to find and track the target line.  This gives you the same view you had when you lined up the putt.

Look At The Hole Drill

To practice this drill, start with about a 10 to 12 foot putt and assume your normal hammY set-up.  When you are ready to make your stroke, instead of looking back at the ball, keep your eyes on the target.

Trust what you see and let your natural ability to make a good stroke take over.  You'll be surprised at how many putts you'll make.
