Part 2

Jack Kuykendall

It seems that my snap hooks are minimized when I followed your setup.

My question is does the setup (22 to 24 inches, etc.) in the video also apply to the Kuykendall toss method?

The 22 to 24 inches between the feet is for a full shot seeking maximum distance. It is to be used with the Power-Move, maximum, controlled arm speed shots.

The wide stance stabilizes the body. It makes the correct hip and shoulder turn easier. It allows for the least movement of body center. It provide maximum support for the Power-Move and then the production of club head speed through correct utilization of the arms for producing club head speed (explained in detail in the member site at Kuykendallgolf.com.

For all shots where maximum arm speed is not necessary, the stance can be as narrow as will support the chosen arm speed.

If the Kallasy Swing Magic cannot be of much help to learn a swing, how can the Momentus be any better? They both do the same job but in different ways.

The Momentus is a club with a weighted shaft that can increase your strength. It is useful if you practice swinging it fast. You need TYPE IIx muscles to increase club head speed. The Momentus is not useful for learning golf mechanics.

The Klassy is simply useless. No one swings a golf club by sliding his hand up and down the shaft. I classify this type of advertising as Sham (Fictitious, False) by Charlatans (one who falsely claims to profess knowledge of subject.

I was into Natural Golf for about six months. I found the Scigolf web site and tried your swing. The ball just exploded and went way high and longer than any ball I hit with Natural Golf.

JK: The management at Natural Golf changed the mechanics within days after my leaving the company in 1995. For over 5 years, they have taught golfers to push at the ball. They do not teach my Single-Axis discovery correctly, and they definitely do not teach the mechanics that Moe Norman performs. Loss of distance and snap hooking the ball are the two biggest complaints I receive from golfers who have taken lesson from a Certified Natural Golf Instructor.

I bought the Lever Power Golf system. I have been practicing with it for three weeks. I will try it on the golf course the next time out.

I'm interested in the series three and four on the back of your series-one Lever Power Golf booklet. I would like to know how to purchase these.

I have a short game video that is available if you have purchased the LPG full swing kit. It is $20. The Kuykendall Putting Method is on the kuykendallgolf.com web site. You do not have to be a member to get the my putting theory.

I just bought your Lever-Power-Golf system. My question is: do you sit down or does it come automatic with the down swing. In the video it says that it is automatic. I read in Golf Mechanics Are Laughably Simple that you sit down 2" with the down swing. Which is true the video or the golf myths #8 that you sit down?

There are no automatic moves in any athletic event. All motion is learned motion.

In a video, the sit down comes .099 seconds before the hands move away from the right shoulder. There is nothing your conscious mind can do to ever experience the difference from the sit down starting first or the hands moving away from the right shoulder starting first. For all practical purposes, they are simultaneous.

I recently bought impact grips and had them installed on my existing clubs with 2 inch but extenders since I just couldn't afford your clubs as much as I would like to have them. Can you advise whether your LPG training device can be used with these clubs in respect of getting the training device inserted into the butt of the club with its impact grip and butt extender? Can you advise how one attaches or inserts your device?

If the butt extenders are the standard hollow ones, you will have no problem with using the LPG trainer.

You have stated:

"9 out of 10 golfers who have taken a lesson from me in last year have purchased a set of the IMPACT clubs. Scientific design and assembly have made them superior to anything the golf market has ever experienced. One swing and the ball goes farther and higher. The solidness of the impact just has to be experienced to be believed."

I'm starting to think the other one was left-handed! Tempted to play right handed just to be using your clubs. Europe, I heard, has 30% left-handers - if you decide to market there.

Please provide the best brand names of forged clubs I can purchase Left Handed and have you retrofit/fix... Clubs that you would like if they were your own. If you can't, then say so - please.

left-handed irons I can get left handed woods that are a copy of my right-handed woods.

I have made left handed irons for several customers with the heads and specifications listed below. The heads are a copy of the Titleist DCI. They will play better than anything you would buy from another manufacturer.

Because it cost more to purchase the single component left handed heads than the Kuykendall designed right handed heads, I have to charge the same prices.

In conversation with Larry Viarengo, he mentioned the options of the new Impact clubs or having my current clubs (Hogan irons, Orlimar fairway woods etc.-- a mixed bag) "optimized." Are you the only one able to optimize clubs at this time? How much do you charge for this service? Forgive the question if this information is available on the website.

JK: To my knowledge, I will say yes at this point. There has to be weight added to the shaft. I have a process for doing that.

The cost is $30 per club. This includes adding the Kuykendall correct size and weight grip.

Thanks again for your discoveries-- while it takes me some time to try them, I find when I do that you are right. For example, I viewed information about the LPG swing too many times to mention. Then when I finally said, "what the heck, let's give it a try" (mostly to prove you wrong, I hate to admit).

JK: This is actually the best thing you could have said. In my challenge on the kuykendallgolf.com site, I want to you try to prove anything I say as wrong. If you can, I must change. If you can't, you REALLY prove to yourself the information is correct.

I practiced 30-40 minutes with the trainer and hit the ball consistently better than ever before ( and I was a 10 handicap at the time). I am now grooving the LPG short game swing and am thinking "smooth, smooth, smoother." The sponges arrived, during dinner time, I might add-- so I explained the concept to my family and they looked at me as if I were an extra-terristial (nothing new, there).

Seriously, thanks for developing a swing that works, and works better the more you work at it.

Sincerely,
Chuck R.

What is the velocity of your swing?

With my driver,

Standing:

Standard Swing for accuracy between 110 and 115 mph: between 250 and 260 yards air carry.

Full out as fast as my triceps can sling my forearms, approximately 120 mph.

Seated on swing stool shown in web site.

Standard Swing on stool between 108 and 112 mph: around 250 yard air carry.

My fastest full out as fast as my triceps can sling my forearms, has been 117 mph.

I am 61 years old. 5'9" 180 lbs. I have a high percentage of TYPE IIx fast twitch muscles in my forearms.

Are you advocating a swing path that actually travels from inside the line to outside the line after impact for straight shots? This seems to defy physics. In to out with the face square to the path should be a straight push and in to out with the face closed to the path is a hook.

What am I missing?

Buying the sponges and trying them.

Also, because of the overemphasis of the lower body by traditional instruction, I think you are underemphasizing the use of the body since most of the power comes from the arm swing. By saying the body is a stabilizer aren't you saying we should be Iron Byron machines and not use the lower body at all?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!! The hips move 45 degrees in the backstroke and 45 degrees in forward motion. The lower body sits and rotates to support the motion of the arms. If the lower body did not move, the arms could never reach their power positions.

Do you have any videos on/off the internet where I can see someone using your swing without the swing trainer on?

YES. My LPG system has a video. However since, you have seen Moe Norman, You will see the same thing with the added advantage of bending the left arm. This adds greater distance and accuracy with dramatically reduced stress on the back and shoulders.

Thanks again for your prompt reply on my pulling question.

I just wanted to let you know that I seem to have started to get it . I actually went out to play for the first time with my new LPG swing and honestly could not believe it. The ball flew of the club like a cannon and either dead straight or with the slightest of draws. I only played 9 holes but I have NEVER hit the ball so well. I actually experienced the increased distance promised with the swing as well (not that I cared, accuracy was what I wanted). All my clubs went further but with a massive increase in accuracy. The shots went exactly were I was aiming which may sound obvious but certainly wasn't the case with my traditional golf swing. All in all, a fantastic start and I am really keen to play again.

Thanks for your help thus far and I hope I can convince other people to try LPG.

Best Regards,
Mark Murray

I've been trying your method, because I saw an exhibition by Moe Norman a few years ago and the traditional golf teaching is confusing and very contradictory.

I'm confused about an aspect of your method, or maybe the description of it in LPG. You say the body is just a stabilizer, yet the first move down is to sit down about 2". When I try that, if I sit too much I hit it fat, sit too little and I hit it thin. The only reason I can see that you have to sit down is that you must be lifting up on the backswing. If you didn't, you wouldn't need the sit-down move. Do you sit down using the Kuykendall Toss?

Yes, I sit down. If you are hitting fat or thin, it is not because of the sit down motion. All professionals make the sit down motion. Sam Snead had the best of all times. You hit fat or thin due to incorrect shoulder and/or incorrect wrist motion.
